The Head, Admissions and Marketing leads The Winstedt School's Admissions and Marketing portfolio through development and growth in student recruitment and enrolment. This role will also act as a primary liaison to the Parent League, and manage the marketing and publicity, both in-house and externally, for The Winstedt School.
The Senior Manager/Head, Admissions and Marketing accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the vision and mission of The Winstedt School.
Responsibilities
- Direct all aspects of admissions including enrolment, re-enrolment, retention management and withdrawals of students.
- Receive all external queries from prospective families via The Winstedt School’s website, email & telephone and ensure all enquiries are dealt with professionally, effectively and efficiently.
- Conduct school tours with prospective families.
- Organise Open House events to help promote Winstedt, ensuring participation in the event itself as well as organising for Winstedt faculty to participate accordingly.
- Oversee the processing of Student Admissions and Withdrawals with the Admissions Executive.
- Liaise with the Admissions Committee members within the School, ensuring prospective students are screened and allocated to classes in accordance with the School’s policy on classroom and grade suitability.
- Manage the plan execution of Orientations (Fall and Spring).
- Help to ensure the first day/ week of School is a positive experience for all new families.
- Manage the School’s responsibilities in relation to the entry and withdrawal process.
- Liaise with the Quality Assurance Department to ensure all documentation is accurately prepared and filed accordingly.
- Data Management: Maintain and monitor the OpenApply system for enquiries, applications, tours and events, monitor current school enrolment and potential joiners and leavers and provide data to allow the Head of Corporate Services to estimate future student numbers.
- Monitor year on year, quarterly trends in numbers of enquiries and applications.
- Work with the Marketing and Communications Executive and maintain management and supervision of digital content in supporting social channels including emails, newsletters, announcement distribution, and Winstedt’s website.
- Create and execute communication for parents, media, and press responses in a timely and professional manner.
- Represent the School at relevant events in Singapore.
- Assist the School develop strategic partnerships with special education providers, therapists, other schools, relocation agencies, Expat associations and organisations that might support Winstedt in establishing it as a school of choice for kids who think and learn differently; and,
- Select, train and manage external recruitment agents.
- Liaise with the parent committee at The Winstedt School, also known as the Parent League, in terms of communication, budget queries, and planning of upcoming school events.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
- Relevant degree with at least 8 years of experience working in marketing; experience in school admissions is highly desirable.
- Commitment to and understanding of the education sector particularly in the areas of special needs education and differentiated learning is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience working in a highly diverse and international environment working with stakeholders from various cultures and countries.
- Track record of success in student recruitment/admissions/sales and marketing.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both written and verbal English.
- Strong and successful customer relations and customer care skills with the ability to respectfully manage challenging clients.
- Professional partnership development, stakeholder management, and sales/business development skills including active listening, managing pipelines and market research.
- Relevant computer literacy, especially to navigate the online portal for admissions and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Personal qualities such as an outgoing, confident, affable and positive personality, drive, energy and stamina; capable of showing initiative including the ability to think ahead and work flexibly without constant direction to deliver outputs.
- Detail-oriented and a creative problem-solver who is capable of applying analytical skills to business matters.
