Job summary

iKas International (Asia) Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead evaluation, prototyping and delivery of technology solutions while contributing as an Individual Contributor.

The role blends technical leadership with solution architecture and hands-on development, guiding problem definition through pilot delivery to production, and coaching engineers for scalable, secure outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in software engineering, architecture, cloud engineering.
• Experience leading engineers or complex technical workstreams.
• Recent hands-on experience building prototypes or production software.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, TypeScript, Java, C# or Go).
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, APIs, integration, data, identity and security.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or another major cloud platform.
• Working knowledge of AI and generative AI, including practical applications, limitations and risks.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI, generative AI, automation and cloud-native solutions.
• Translate business challenges into technical concepts, prototypes and delivery plans.
• Build or lead the development of rapid prototypes and technical demonstrators.
• Define solution architectures covering applications, APIs, data, cloud, integration and security.
• Lead proof-of-concept and pilot initiatives, including technical scope, success measures and delivery governance.
• Assess technical feasibility, architecture trade-offs, implementation risks and production readiness.
• Manage technical delivery across internal teams, vendors and technology partners.
• Establish engineering practices across testing, DevSecOps, observability, documentation and source-code management.
• Support successful solutions through productisation and production deployment.
• Coach engineers and communicate technical recommendations to senior stakeholders.
