Job description

We are an established pet shop expanding into the world of premium pet grooming. With a loyal base of customers who have purchased puppies from us, our new grooming arm will have a ready and consistent flow of clients seeking ongoing grooming and maintenance services.

Beyond serving our regular customers, the groomer will also care for our in-house puppies — ensuring they are well‑groomed and ready for viewing appointments.

As the salon is currently in its setup phase, we are looking for a highly experienced and independent groomer to join as a founding member of our team — someone confident in helping establish grooming processes, develop SOPs, and potentially assist with hiring and training as the team grows.

This is a rare opportunity to build a grooming salon from the ground up, with the autonomy to shape how things are done.

Position: Professional Pet Groomer

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of grooming experience
• Minimum SKC Class C Grooming Certificate (Class B or A preferred)
• Experience in handling small to large breeds
• Experience in handling other breeds (Rabbits, Cats & Guinea Pigs) preferred
• Patient, confident, and compassionate with all temperaments
• Strong attention to detail, coat quality, and safety
• Independent and proactive, with good communication and teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities

• Perform grooming services (bathing, trimming, styling, nail clipping, etc.) according to customer requests and pet needs
• Groom puppies intended for sale and viewings to maintain presentation standards
• Handle dogs gently and ensure a safe, positive grooming experience
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and equipment care
• Advise pet owners on coat maintenance, grooming schedules, and puppy grooming tips
• Help establish salon SOPs and best practices
• Contribute to future hiring and training as the salon expands
