About the role

This traineeship offers a foundational opportunity for an aspiring technology professional to delve into technology risk management and governance within a dynamic banking environment. You will gain practical experience in how technology risks are assessed, reviewed, and managed, contributing to the bank's operational resilience and compliance framework. The program focuses on developing a working knowledge of tech risk management through active participation in self‑assessments, IT regulatory projects, and reviews of critical IT areas, while also building skills in risk analytics, stakeholder engagement, and identifying control weaknesses.

Job Responsibility
  • Actively participate in IT regulatory projects and reviews focusing on key technology risk areas such as IT Incident/Problem Management, System Change Management, SDLC Governance, and Disaster Recovery and Resiliency.
  • Contribute to the self‑assessment review process, learning to identify control weaknesses or gaps in technology operations and governance.
  • Gain a working knowledge of the Tech Risk Manager role through on‑the‑job training and involvement in various risk initiatives.
  • Support the development and application of technology risk analytics, contributing to data‑driven risk insights.
  • Participate in forums and meetings with senior stakeholders, learning effective communication and collaboration techniques in a governance context.
  • Improve and develop skills in interviewing and collaborating with diverse stakeholders across the organization.
  • Provide ad‑hoc support for risk reporting, forum preparation activities, and other governance‑related tasks.
  • Actively participate in department‑wide townhalls and technology knowledge‑sharing sessions to broaden technical and industry understanding.
Job Requirements
  • University Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science/Information Security/Information Systems, Data Science/Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Mathematics/Statistics/Quantitative Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen interest in technology risk and its impact on business operations.
  • Eagerness to learn about technology risk management frameworks, IT governance, and regulatory requirements within the financial sector.
  • Strong communication skills (spoken & written) to interact effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technical concepts and methodologies related to risk assessment and governance.
