About the role
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical GRIT Trainee to join our Group Technology team as a QA Testing Engineer. This traineeship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in ensuring the quality and reliability of banking applications through comprehensive testing methodologies. You will be instrumental in designing and executing test cases, automating test scenarios, identifying defects, and contributing to a robust software development lifecycle. Job Responsibility
Test Case Design & Execution
- Design and execute clear, comprehensive test cases for banking applications, covering various functionalities and potential edge cases.
- Conduct different types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
Test Automation
- Learn and apply test automation concepts, automating test scenarios using frameworks like Selenium, JUnit, or similar tools.
- Contribute to building and maintaining automated test suites.
Defect Management
- Accurately identify, document, and track software defects with clear steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual results, and relevant supporting evidence.
- Work collaboratively with developers to reproduce, isolate, and resolve defects.
- Utilize QA tools like JIRA for issue tracking and management.
Documentation & Reporting
- Document test results and maintain accurate test documentation (test plans, cases, results).
- Contribute to summary reports that provide insights into product quality and release readiness.
Quality Assurance Feedback
- Provide constructive and actionable feedback to development teams on software quality, usability, and adherence to requirements.
- Advocate for the end-user experience throughout the testing process.
Collaboration & Learning
- Actively participate in the software testing lifecycle, including understanding continuous testing in CI/CD environments.
- Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams, demonstrating clear communication and a collaborative mindset.
Job Requirements
- Minimally ITE Certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related technical field.
- Basic programming knowledge, with an interest in learning scripting for test automation.
- Strong interest in Quality Assurance principles and test automation tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and persistence in identifying issues.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new testing methodologies, and prioritize tasks effectively.
