Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a firmware/embedded software engineer to design, develop and test next-generation Rockwell products in a global, collaborative environment.

You will work on 32-bit microcontrollers, real-time operating systems, and low-level drivers using C/C++, report to an engineering manager in Singapore, and contribute to deliverables with quality and cross-functional teams across the globe. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of embedded software product development experience; candidates with no experience invited to apply.
• Experience developing embedded software using C and C++.
• Experience programming 32-bit MCUs and developing low-level drivers.
• Bachelor or Master in Computer Science / Embedded Systems or related Engineering.
• Concentration in Embedded Software Engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

You will manage the design, testing and supporting of firmware/embedded software application for existing and next generation of Rockwell Automation products following engineering best processes, and in partnership with team members across the globe. You will meet project deliverables with high quality and to work in a diverse team environment. You will be reporting to an Engineering manager based in Singapore.

Your Responsibilities:

• Minimal 1 years relevant experience in embedded software product development.

• Experience developing embedded software using C and C++ programming language.
• Experience programming 32 bits Microcontroller and developing low level device driver.
• Bachelor or Master in Computer Science / Embedded Systems/Computer.
• Engineering / Electrical Electronic Engineering Concentration in Embedded Software Engineering.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

• Experience with development in the following areas for embedded system:
• Development with Real Time Operation System
• Develop communication protocols like Ethernet/USB/WiFi and CAN/Profibus, and IO-Link Automated unit test methodology
• We would like you to have 3+ years of related experience.
• We would open to consider candidate with no full-time experience but are passionate to join.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

• Passion in embedded engineering.
• Have desired for continuous improvement in applying best practice and modern technologies in embedded design and processes.
• Experience developing Design document for firmware/embedded software.
• Have knowledge in different established design techniques and design patterns.
• Experience different hardware-assisted debugging tools.
• Have knowledge in Secure Coding CERT C/C++ standard.
• Have knowledge or experience in Functional Safety/ Security Development processes will be advantage.
• A willingness to experiment within acceptable boundaries and to bring novel solutions into design.
