Job summary

An established consulting firm in Singapore is looking for a candidate to conduct research, support exhibitions, and assist in collections development related to design history. Applicants should hold a minimum undergraduate degree in a relevant field and have a keen interest in contemporary design practices in Asia. This role is offered on a 12-month contract with a salary of up to $3,500 per month.

Location: Raffles Place

Working Hours: Mon-Fri, Office Hour

Work Type: 12-Month Contract

Salary: Up to $ 3,500 per month

What you will be working on?

(A) Research

  • Conduct thorough research with primary and secondary sources on the objects explore in Asia in global design history – emphasising exchanges between Asia and the world, from the perspective of Asia
  • Assist in editing transcripts, preparing bibliographies, captions, photograph orderings, and footnotes related to the exhibition and the accompanying publication(s)

(B) Exhibitions, publications and media

  • Assist in the production of multimedia materials (such as videos, soundtracks, or digital initiatives) for the exhibition, if applicable.
  • Support administrative tasks related to the exhibition, including compiling artifact lists, archiving photographs, and filing relevant documentation.
  • Assist in organizing lecture programs and educational activities associated with the exhibition.
  • Contribute to the publication process, from research to printing.

(C) Collections Development

  • Assist curators with acquisitions including loans, purchases, and donations, prepare documentation, acquisition justification forms and other administrative documents.
  • Assist with cataloguing of collections.

(D) Any other duties related to research and collection as assigned by the management

What are we looking for?

  • Singaporean only
  • Minimum undergraduate degree in art/design history, history, anthropology, museum/curatorial studies, material culture studies, or a related subject.
  • Keen interest in 20th and 21st century design or in the history of design in Singapore and Asia region, with emphasis on contemporary practices
