Job summary

Illumina is seeking a Supplier Quality specialist to lead activities that improve material quality from suppliers and ensure compliance with FDA and ISO standards. You will develop and manage supplier relationships, drive improvement projects, and lead audits to verify QMS compliance.

The role requires experience in a regulated environment, knowledge of Six Sigma and CAPA tools, and willingness to travel internationally to resolve quality issues and ensure continuity of supply.

Qualifications

• Experience in a regulated environment and IVD/medical device quality systems.
• Strong knowledge of quality tools (CAPA, FMEA, DOE, Six Sigma) and statistics.
• Ability to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead activities to improve supplier quality and prevent non-conforming parts from entering Illumina.
• Develop long-term supplier relationships to meet quality requirements and expectations.
• Drive supplier improvement projects (process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen).
• Manage suppliers to prevent regressions after new processes.
• Establish short- and long-term supplier quality goals and timely corrective actions.
• Assist in supplier qualification following the NPD process.
• Foster a Zero Defect mentality across the supplier base.
• Develop new suppliers to meet Illumina's requirements and guide improvements.
• Regularly report supplier performance and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
• Conduct supplier audits to verify QMS compliance and process controls.
• Monitor key KPIs (SCAR past due, KSPM score, assembly yield).
• Travel to supplier locations to resolve quality problems.
