Global Sourcing Manager (Capital Goods & IT Services)
About the Client

Our client is a market leader in the semiconductor manufacturing sector. They operate a globally distributed network of manufacturing sites, design centers, and service locations. The organization is undergoing a period of significant growth and requires a seasoned sourcing professional to optimize its indirect spend and procurement processes worldwide. Job Scope

The individual will be a key leader in designing, implementing, and executing global sourcing strategies for all major indirect spend categories. The primary focus areas are Capital Equipment (Machinery, Tools) and Information Technology (Hardware, Software, and Services).

This role ensures operational continuity and cost‑effective solutions for the company’s various business units across the globe. You will be responsible for defining and monitoring performance metrics (Quality, Delivery, Cost) and owning decisions related to supplier selection, strategic performance management, and urgent resolution of supply issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead global Request For Proposal (RFP) processes and contractual negotiations for high‑value indirect categories, specifically Capital Goods and IT spend.
  • Develop, gain approval for, and execute global category and commodity strategies, including detailed spend analysis and supplier segmentation models.
  • Analyze global market trends, technology developments, and supplier capabilities to identify and realize cost‑saving opportunities and manage risk.
  • Collaborate closely with internal business leaders and operational stakeholders across global manufacturing, design, and service centers to align sourcing plans with business needs.
  • Oversee global spend, ensure adherence to procurement policies, drive cost optimisation targets, and manage overall supplier performance.
  • Facilitate and maintain detailed supplier scorecards to foster strategic relationships.
  • Provide necessary support to the Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) process, including purchase requisition and purchase order (PO) confirmation, as required.
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • More than 5 years of experience in strategic procurement, commodity management, or global sourcing.
  • Prior experience in sourcing industrial machinery/capital equipment or enterprise IT is highly preferred.
  • Direct experience within an electronics manufacturing or high‑technology industrial environment is essential.
  • Proven track record in developing and deploying comprehensive, multi‑region category and commodity strategies.
  • Expertise in detailed commodity spend analysis and contract management.
  • Solid understanding of the end‑to‑end Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) process, including PO issuance and supplier logistics.
  • Working knowledge of purchasing and electronic manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to act decisively and professionally under pressure or changing requirements.
  • Capability to manage multiple complex, simultaneous projects.
  • Proficient working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP or Ariba.
  • Excellent PC skills, including proficiency with MS Office suite.
