Job summary

OCBC Bank is seeking a Team Lead for SSA NextGen Solutions within Global Markets BM Solutions & Analytics. You will lead a small team of system specialists, drive technology innovation, and bridge Front Office, Operations, Risk, Finance, and external vendors to shape future business and technology solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science & System Integration, or Quantitative Finance is required.
  • 8–10 years of experience in system solutions supporting front office trading and risk management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to distill complex data into insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Python, SQL, data visualization software, AI tools and agentic workflows.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and products; understanding of trade operational workflows.
  • Murex experience will be a great advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of system specialists for innovation and technology enablement across Global Markets.
  • Drive adoption of emerging technologies including Agentic AI and intelligent automation across trade lifecycles.
  • Identify and deliver opportunities to improve STP, efficiency, controls, and workflow automation.
  • Provide functional leadership for platforms like Murex, FiniQ, Numerix, MarkitWire, FIS and other systems.
  • Drive data quality, governance, and control initiatives to support regulatory and business needs.
  • Support SSA Head system owner in governance forums, risk committees, and architecture discussions.
  • Lead strategic tech initiatives including platform upgrades, cloud initiatives, and vendor integrations.
  • Partner with Front Office, Operations, Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Technology to align roadmaps.
  • Translate business requirements into technology solutions with architecture and governance alignment.

This role serves as the Team Lead for SSA NextGen Solutions within the Global Markets Business Management Systems Solutions & Analytics (SSA) function. In addition to leading a small team of system specialists, the position is responsible for driving the technology innovation and transformation agenda across Global Markets and acts as a key bridge between Front Office, Operations, Risk, TFCA, Finance, O&T, and external vendors in shaping future business and technology solutions. The role combines people leadership, solution delivery, platform expertise, technology governance, and strategic technology development planning responsibilities, making it a critical position within GM BM.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading a team of system specialists responsible for innovation, business solutions, and technology enablement across Global Markets.
  • Driving the adoption of emerging technologies, including Agentic AI, intelligent workflow automation, and digital operating models across pre-trade, trade lifecycle, and post-trade processes.
  • Identifying and delivering opportunities to improve Straight-Through Processing (STP), operational efficiency, control effectiveness, and workflow automation across Global Markets.
  • Providing functional leadership and subject matter expertise for key business platforms including Murex, FiniQ, Numerix, MarkitWire, FIS, e-channels and other business-critical systems.
  • Driving data quality, data governance, and control initiatives to support business, operational, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting SSA Head system owner responsibilities through participation in technology governance forums, risk committees, audit reviews, architecture discussions, and cross-functional working groups.
  • Leading and supporting strategic technology initiatives, including platform upgrades, new module rollouts, vendor integrations, AI adoption programmes, cloud-related initiatives, and continuous platform enhancements.
  • Partnering closely with Front Office, Operations, Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Technology teams to identify business opportunities, define future-state operating models, and establish technology roadmaps aligned with Global Markets strategic objectives.
  • Acting as a key functional lead in translating business requirements into technology solutions while ensuring alignment with overall architecture, governance, and long-term platform strategy.

The importance of this role continues to increase as Global Markets accelerates its digital transformation agenda, expands automation capabilities, strengthens governance requirements, and explores AI-driven productivity improvements. Beyond maintaining existing platform capabilities, this position plays a critical role in identifying, prioritising, and implementing future solutions that enhance scalability, reduce operational risk, strengthen controls, improve client service, and support business growth.

Who you are - A degree in either of the following:
  • Business administration, computer science, data science and system integration, quantitative finance.
  • 8-10 years of experience in system solutions supporting front office trading and risk management platforms within Global markets or other departments across financial institutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights.
  • Driving for results and delivering under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient in Excel, Python, SQL, data visualization software, AI tools and agentic workflows.
  • A curious and adaptable mindset, with a passion for learning and staying up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and products with good understanding of trade operational workflows and lifecycle.
  • Murex experience will be a great advantage.
