Global IT Site Operation Engineer – US-Based Company in Malaysia

Location: Johor Bahru (Must be able to live in Malaysia)(As base in Malaysia Welcome Malaysian)

About the Position

We are looking for a skilled IT Engineer specializing in site operations to support our global technology team. This role will oversee the setup, maintenance, and optimization of IT infrastructure for our manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for ensuring that all on-site systems—including networks, hardware, software, and security tools—run reliably and efficiently. The ideal candidate is someone who can provide hands‑on technical expertise while maintaining a secure and stable IT environment across the entire site.

Key Responsibilities

• User Support: Provide timely assistance to employees by diagnosing and resolving technical issues.

• Hardware & Software Oversight: Manage installation, configuration, and ongoing support of workstations, laptops, printers, and related equipment; address issues across operating systems and applications.

• Infrastructure Operations: Support and maintain site‑level infrastructure such as servers, storage units, virtualization platforms, and network components.

• Security & Policy Adherence: Apply IT and security guidelines, ensuring the site meets global compliance requirements and maintains strong cybersecurity posture.

• Vendor & Partner Management: Coordinate with service providers on procurement, repairs, and technology solutions; offer recommendations for new or improved tools.

• System Performance Monitoring: Continuously review the health of networks, servers, and applications to detect and resolve risks or performance gaps.

• Documentation: Keep accurate and updated records of configurations, network diagrams, procedures, and service logs.

Required Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• 7–10 years of experience in IT operations or infrastructure support, ideally within a manufacturing environment.

• Strong knowledge of network design, structured cabling, and technologies related to LAN/WAN/Cloud environments.

• Hands‑on experience deploying and managing LAN/WAN networks.

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Autopilot, VMware, and Cisco IOS.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a solid understanding of cybersecurity practices.

• Experience working with helpdesk/ticketing platforms for managing user requests.

• Ability to automate or streamline processes using PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting languages.

• In-depth understanding of computer hardware, storage systems, and peripheral equipment, with proven troubleshooting skills.
