Job description

The Global Commodity Manager is a senior strategic role based in Singapore, responsible for managing Rand Technology's global sourcing strategy for A-commodities. This position drives supplier partnerships, conducts customer engagements and collaborates with senior management to align sourcing initiatives with overall business objectives. This role has global influence across Sales and Sourcing, representing Rand in key customer and supplier negotiations as well as major international trade events.

Essential Responsbilities
Strategic Supplier and Customer Engagement
  • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with key suppliers to ensure supply continuity and competitive pricing.
  • Conduct customer visits and represent Rand Technology at global trade shows and supplier meetings to enhance visibility and strengthen partherships
  • Collaborate with Sales Leadership to align supplier capabilities with customer demand and growth opportunities
  • Build and foster strategic relationships across the supply chain in assinged technologies and commodities.
  • Implement agreements with key supply-chain partners that provide Rand an advantage in pricing, supply and support.
Market Intelligence and Sourcing Strategy
  • Develop and align a global sourcing strategy for assigned technologies and commodities, considering technology trends, OEM-to-customer supply-chain structures, distribution and broker market landscapes, risks (geographical, geopolitical, and technological), and strategic inventory planning.
  • Lead continuous market research and trend analysis for A-commodities, identifying emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor global pricing, availability, and competitive shifts to inform sourcing and sales strategy.
  • Provide quarterly market updatesand executive summaries for the senior leadership team.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for A commodities to the global level.
Identify and Drive Proactive Sales Opportunities
  • Partner with Sales and Sourcing to analyze market data, customer demand, and BOMs to uncover new opportunities.
  • Support the execution of deals by aligning supplier inventory, pricing and delivery with customer needs.
  • Offer guidance on customer pricing strategies and margin optimization to drive continuous sales growth.
Market Reporting
  • Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly market reports summarising trends, pricing changes and supply risks.
  • Present insights to leadership and cross-functional teams to support informed business decisions.
  • Contribute to the developement of executive dashboards and regional market forecasts.
Operational Guidance
  • Provide ongoing guidance to Sales and Sourcing teams on best practices in purchasing and supplier management.
  • Design and deliver training programs for global Sales and Buyer teams on commodity markets and negotiation excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with Rand's global procurement, quality and ethical standards, driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Requirements
