A leading global equipment supplier in Singapore seeks a Global Category Manager to develop sourcing strategies for semiconductor equipment. The role requires extensive experience in category management and technical knowledge of semiconductor systems. Candidates should have strong skills in supplier relationship management and cost modeling. This is an opportunity to drive procurement excellence in a high-tech environment.
Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for Semiconductor Equipment and subcomponents (wafer transfer modules, load ports, aligners, robots, controllers, fan filters, frame structures, etc.).
Align strategy with business, engineering, and technology roadmaps; lead implementation and continuous improvement.
Conduct market research, identify and qualify new suppliers, and ensure alignment with KLA’s technical and commercial goals.
Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams on sourcing decisions to meet product and fab requirements.
Source, qualify, and onboard suppliers to support innovation and capacity growth.
Drive supplier performance through KPIs, business reviews, and corrective actions.
Lead cost reduction, quality, and lead-time improvement initiatives.
Manage supplier relationships and resolve escalations.
Lead contract negotiations and manage the full contract lifecycle, including renewals and dispute resolution.
Partner with R&D, NPI, and manufacturing teams to align sourcing with design and production needs.
Work with finance and legal to manage budget, risk, and compliance.
Assess and mitigate supply chain risks (geopolitical, economic, environmental).
Establish dual sourcing and buffer strategies for critical components.
Ensure compliance with export control and environmental regulations (RoHS, REACH).
Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Robotics/Supply Chain; Master’s or CPSM/PMP preferred.
10+ years in strategic sourcing/category management within semiconductor or high‑tech equipment.
Strong technical knowledge of Semiconductor Equipment systems and wafer handling robotics.
Skilled in supplier audits, cost modeling, and technical negotiations.
