Our client, a Fortune 500 company and a global powerhouse in B2B and supply chain solutions is currently looking for a dedicated hands-on GL Accountant to join their centralized finance team. This role is essential to maintaining the integrity of our financial records and ensuring accurate reporting in a regional capacity. You will be a hands-on contributor, playing a key part in the monthly close process and providing reliable data that underpins strategic business decisions.

Job

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and properly document business transactions. A core part of your function involves preparing profit and loss statements and contributing to monthly closing and cost accounting reports. You will regularly prepare detailed general ledger account reconciliations with supporting documentation, and proactively interact with business units to resolve any accounting discrepancies. Responsibilities also include maintaining and coordinating implementation of appropriate accounting control procedures, monitoring system reports for accuracy, analyzing budget variances and expenditures, and preparing other financial reports (like balance sheets). You will adhere strictly to company policies, GAAP, and SOX standards while assisting both internal and external auditors in completing their reviews. Finally, you will develop productive relationships within the finance team and maintain relevant financial databases and automated systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance/Accounting, or related field with professional accreditation
• Relevant years of accounting experience
• Working knowledge of Oracle Financials module experience is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
• Strong knowledge of accounting theory, principles, and practices
• Ability to research, analyze, and interpret complex financial and statistical data
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and meet critical deadlines
