Job summary

Zenith Infotech (S) Pte Ltd. is seeking a Software Engineer (GIS) to maintain and enhance IT applications, design new features, and troubleshoot issues. You will develop GIS solutions using ArcGIS API and server tech, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure quality through testing and documentation.

The role requires strong CS/IT background, 3+ years in GIS, and experience with Python ETL, Node.js, and cloud platforms. Hybrid role in Singapore with competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/IS/IT or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for front-end web apps.
• Experience with ArcGIS JS API and ArcGIS Server REST API.
• Experience with GeoServer and PostGIS.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, and Oracle.
• Git version control.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS preferred.
• Familiarity with Node.js, Leaflet, Python ETL.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

As a Software Engineer (GIS) at Zenith Infotech, you will maintain and enhance IT applications, design and develop new features, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver reliable GIS solutions that meet client needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance IT applications by implementing new features, troubleshooting live issues to identify root causes, and delivering effective solutions.
• Design and develop new IT applications based on detailed specifications to meet business requirements.
• Perform iterative prototyping to introduce and improve features within the core system.
• Conduct design, programming, integration, and system testing to ensure software quality and functionality.
• Support users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by providing guidance and resolving issues.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for applications and system changes.
• Develop and execute unit tests and end-to-end test scripts to validate new features and prevent regression.
• Maintain and update automated test scripts using Jenkins to support continuous integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly, developing automated test cases to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate deployment of enhancements and fixes to testing and production environments within agreed timelines.
• Collaborate effectively with end users, server administrators, database administrators, and system analysts to support IT systems.

Required competencies and certifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information/Infocomm Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience with demonstrated skills in:
• JavaScript/TypeScript (ES5/ES6) for client-side web application development.
• ReactJS, React Hooks, Redux, and jQuery frameworks for building interactive user interfaces.
• HTML5 and CSS for web page structure and styling.
• AJAX and JSON for asynchronous data exchange.
• NPM for package management.
• ASP.NET Core and ASP.NET MVC for server-side web application development.
• C# programming for backend logic implementation.
• ArcGIS JavaScript API and ArcGIS Server REST API for GIS web services.
• GeoServer and PostGIS for spatial data management and services.
• PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle databases for data storage and retrieval.
• Git version control for source code management.
• Strong communication skills to manage stakeholder interactions effectively.
• Proven ability to collaborate within a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative to meet deadlines.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience developing applications using Microsoft Azure Cloud and/or AWS Cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with open-source technologies such as Node.js, Leaflet, GeoServer, PostgreSQL, and PostGIS.
• Knowledge of geospatial and mapping concepts including spatial analysis and map projections using ESRI technologies.
• Experience with geoprocessing using Python scripts and ETL tools such as FME.
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies and DevOps processes.

Other Information

• Work Week: Monday to Friday (8:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid - Central Region
• Salary: S$7,000–S$9,500
