Job summary

Element Geotechnical Testing (S) PTE. LTD. is seeking a Geologist for a Singapore-based, site-focused role. The position involves coordinating soil investigations and supervising geotechnical instrument installations on major infrastructure projects.

You will conduct in-situ tests, manage logging of soil/rock data, collect samples, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Strong teamwork and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering or geology is required.
• Certificate in Site Investigation for Supervisors (BCA) is advantageous.
• Around 2 years of relevant infrastructure project experience is preferred.
• Physically fit to work in challenging site conditions.
• Good organizational and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate soil investigation projects and manage installation of geotechnical instruments.
• Supervise logging of soil and rock information during borehole drilling and sampling per schedule.
• Perform in-situ tests (PMT, VST, PBT, PKT, etc.) per testing schedule with safety procedures.
• Ensure day-to-day site operations meet project and safety requirements; attend meetings and plan activities.
• Ensure completion aligned with client expectations and regulatory requirements; handle ad-hoc duties.

Job description

Element has an opportunity for Geologist for Singapore.

This will be a site based position in Singapore.

Job Duties:

• Involve in project coordination for Soil Investigation and installation of Geotechnical instrument installation works, supervise the recording of log soil and rock information during borehole drilling, collection of soil and rock samples according to sampling schedule for laboratory testing
• Conduct in-situ testes (PMT, VST, PBT, PKT etc) according to testing schedule, risk analysis of jobs involved and ensure compliance to safe work procedures
• Ensure day-to-day site operations are carried out as per project and safety requirements and attend project meetings, prepare project planning and coordination, supervision of Soil Investigation, reporting and other related scope of works
• Responsible for all the implementation and completion towards management target, client’s expectation and compliance to authorities’ regulation
• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Degree in civil engineering or geology, certificate in Site Investigation for Supervisors (BCA), SEC(K) higher Skill is an advantage with 2 years’ relevant experience in major infrastructure projects
• Working experience in construction industry
  Physically fit and able to withstand the challenging working conditions
• Strong and determined quality focus with indefatigable determination to get the job done under the most challenging conditions and meet tight deadlines with minimum supervision
• Self-motivated team player with excellent organisational and communication skills
