Qualifications

  • Certification by one of the medical specialty boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
  • Fellowship with the Hong Kong Academy or College (FHKAM, FHKAM etc).
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT or CCST) awarded by a competent authority of the UK or Ireland.
  • Certification by one of the Royal Colleges in Australia or New Zealand.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to quality clinical services and supervise inpatient care.
  • Perform General Surgery and Trauma surgery procedures independently.
  • Participate in on-call rosters for emergencies.
  • Provide teaching and supervision to junior medical staff.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of Division.

What is the role?

The exact details of the position will be discussed in more detail directly with the hospital team over a video meeting.

  • Please note this position will also require someone to be fit and healthy, with stamina to manage a busy Trauma workload.
  • Some night on call duties will also be required
What are we looking for?

Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Contributing to quality clinical services, supervising inpatient care and providing specialist consultations;
  • Performing General Surgery and Trauma surgery procedures independently
  • Participating in on-call rosters for emergencies and clinical service provision if required;
  • Providing teaching and supervision to junior medical staff;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of Division and Head of Department.
The hospital can only considers specialists with one or more of the below qualifications:
  • Certification by one of the medical specialty boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
  • Fellowship with the Hong Kong Academy or College (FHKAM, FHKAM etc)
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT or CCST) awarded by a competent authority of the UK or Ireland (CESR not recognised in Singapore)
  • Certification by one of the Royal Colleges in Australia or New Zealand
