Qualifications

• Specialist/Consultant level surgeon trained in General Surgery with a sub-speciality in Trauma Surgery.
• Certification by one of the medical specialty boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) required.
• Fellowship with the Hong Kong Academy or College (FHKAM) or equivalent is needed.
• Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) recognised in the UK or Ireland is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to quality clinical services, supervising inpatient care, and providing specialist consultations.
• Performing General Surgery and Trauma surgery procedures independently.
• Participating in on-call rosters for emergencies and clinical service provision.
• Providing teaching and supervision to junior medical staff.

What is the role?

The exact details of the position will be discussed in more detail directly with the hospital team over a video meeting.

• Please note this position will also require someone to be fit and healthy, with stamina to manage a busy Trauma workload.
• Some night on call duties will also be required

What are we looking for?

Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Contributing to quality clinical services, supervising inpatient care and providing specialist consultations;
• Performing General Surgery and Trauma surgery procedures independently
• Participating in on-call rosters for emergencies and clinical service provision if required;
• Providing teaching and supervision to junior medical staff;Other duties as assigned by the Head of Division and Head of Department.

The hospital can only consider specialist with one or more of the below qualifications:

• Certification by one of the medical specialty boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
• Fellowship with the Hong Kong Academy or College (FHKAM, FHKAM etc)
• Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT or CCST) awarded by a competent authority of the UK or Ireland (Please note CESR is not recognised in Singapore)
• Certification by one of the Royal Colleges in Australia or New Zealand
