Job description

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead wastewater treatment operations in the Marine, Offshore, Oil & Gas industries. This role is responsible for overall operational performance, regulatory and safety compliance, financial oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The position requires a strong leader with experience in wastewater, utilities, or regulated industrial environments, who can balance operational excellence with commercial and strategic responsibilities.

• Basic from $9k to $12k + Variable Bonus
• Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm
• Saturday, 8am – 12pm
• Location: Jurong East

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the overall operations of the wastewater and waste management facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operations.
• Plan, implement, and continuously improve waste collection, transportation, treatment, disposal, recycling, and sustainability processes.
• Develop and execute long-term operational strategies, policies, and procedures to drive efficiency, growth, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor operational and financial performance through KPIs, budgets, forecasts, and reports, implementing cost control and optimisation initiatives where required.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for operational enhancement, cost reduction, and revenue generation.
• Ensure full compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements, including audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety-first and environmentally responsible culture across all levels of the organisation.
• Lead, manage, and develop department heads and teams, setting performance objectives and conducting regular evaluations.
• Oversee cross-functional coordination across operations, production, sales, marketing, and customer service to ensure organisational effectiveness.
• Manage customer relationships by addressing enquiries, issues, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

• Min. Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Min. 5 years’ relevant experience in waste or wastewater management, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, waste treatment and disposal methods, and recycling practices.
• Proven experience in budgeting, financial planning, and cost management.
• Ability to analyse operational and financial data, make sound decisions, and adapt to changing business and regulatory environments.
