As an General Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our daily operations run smoothly across production, retail, sales, business development and logistics. You will oversee the entire production and operational ecosystem while ensuring the company continues to innovate and deliver exceptional products to our customers.
You’ll work closely with the Managing Director, supporting the company’s continuous growth while maintaining the standards that have defined our brand for decades.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee the full spectrum of day-to-day manufacturing and production operations, ensuring all teams (Cake Bake, Cake Assembly, Bread Bake) operate in alignment with SOPs and company standards.
- Lead production scheduling, manpower planning, workflow structuring, and daily operational reviews to ensure smooth, efficient, and timely output.
- Implement and uphold operational best practices to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Quality, Cost & Process Management
- Oversee product quality control, recipe standardization, costing accuracy, and inventory management, ensuring strict adherence to budgets, policies, and compliance frameworks.
- Manage operational costs — manpower, equipment maintenance, materials, purchasing — to achieve long‑term sustainability and efficiency.
- Drive production planning, demand forecasting, purchasing cycles, and stock controls to support business objectives.
Retail, Sales & Business Development Support
- Partner closely with retail outlet & sales team to support sales strategies, promotions, seasonal campaigns, and customer experience improvements.
- Partner closely with external business partners (OEM/collaborations) to ensure products met requirements.
- Coordinate plans and align operational support with marketing and sales initiatives.
- Track and analyse operations performance, generating insights and reports for management review.
Market & Competitor Insights
- Monitor competitor activities — product launches, pricing strategies, marketing efforts, and operational trends — to stay ahead of market shifts and drive continuous improvement.
Innovation & Product Development
- Work closely with the R&D team to develop new products, refine recipes, refresh offerings, and introduce seasonal or market-driven items.
- Promote a culture of experimentation, creativity, and innovation across departments.
Vendor & Supplier Management
- Source, evaluate, and maintain strong working relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
- Ensure procurement processes are cost-effective, reliable, and aligned with production needs.
People Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and inspire department heads and operational staff; foster a positive, collaborative, and growth-focused workplace culture.
- Identify training needs, support staff development, and strengthen cross-department teamwork.
Requirements
- Proven experience in operations management, ideally in F&B manufacturing, bakery, or related industries
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to guide teams through change, challenges, and growth
- Highly organised, strategic thinker with strong problem‑solving abilities
- Hands‑on, adaptable, and comfortable working within a fast‑moving, family‑run environment
- Passion for innovation, product development, and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office is a must
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to be a team player with various department
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
- Mature, meticulous with good interpersonal skills, and able to communicate effectively in both English and Mandarin with staff and external stakeholders
