Job description

We are proud to have partnered with a leading regional container feeder operator to support their search for an experienced and dynamic General Manager (Operations). Based at their Singapore Head Office, this is a critical leadership role overseeing the company's operational activities to ensure efficiency, service excellence, and strategic growth.

Location: Singapore Head Office
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee vessel chartering activities to support operational and commercial objectives.
• Manage terminal contracts to ensure service delivery standards, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Lead bunker procurement strategies, securing optimal pricing and reliable supply.
• Drive initiatives to enhance vessel efficiencies, optimize network planning, and maximize operational performance.
• Liaise with major clients, maintaining strong partnerships and ensuring alignment with service expectations.
• Collaborate with internal departments to synchronize operational and strategic objectives.
• Ensure full compliance with industry regulations and company policies across all operations.
• Continuously review and improve operational workflows, risk mitigation strategies, and cost management practices.

Requirements

• Minimum of 20 years’ experience in container vessel operations, with at least 15 years in a senior management role.
• Strong technical and commercial knowledge of vessel operations, chartering, terminal management, and bunker procurement.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex tasks.
• Proven ability to lead operational excellence and implement strategic improvements.
• Strong client management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
