Qualifications

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Operational & Strategic Leadership:
  Develop and execute the company's operational strategy, taking full P&L responsibility for the construction division.
  Establish and optimize all processes for project management, from tender handover to final completion.
  Implement robust HSEQ (WSH, Quality, Environmental) policies compliant with Singaporean standards (BCA, SCDF, MOM).
• Project Delivery & Execution:
  Act as the single point of accountability for all project operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  Directly oversee and mentor a team of Project Managers, Engineers, and Supervisors.
  Manage A&A projects in "live" commercial environments, coordinating with building management, tenants, and consultants.
• Commercial & Contracts Management:
  Oversee all project financials, including cost control, progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts.
  Manage and negotiate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure best value and performance.
• Team Building & Mentorship:
  Build a high-calibre operations team by recruiting, training, and developing talent.
  Foster a strong company culture of accountability, quality, and proactive problem-solving.
• Client & Stakeholder Management:
  Serve as the key operational contact for clients, consultants, and building management, building lasting relationships built on trust and reliability.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 10-15+ years of progressive experience in M&E (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) construction, with a significant focus on A&A works.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
• Technical Expertise:
  Expert knowledge of mechanical systems in commercial buildings (HVAC, fire protection, chilled water systems, plumbing).
  Crucial: Proven experience managing fast-track A&A and fit-out projects within occupied commercial properties.
  Strong understanding of Singaporean building codes and regulations (BCA, SCDF, WSH Act).
• Leadership: Demonstrable experience managing project teams and P&L for a construction division or large business unit.
• Local Knowledge: An established network of local subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants in Singapore is highly advantageous.
