General Manager/ Assistant General Manager (Marine Services)

We are looking for a self-driven and hands-on General Manager/Assistant General Manager (Marine Services) for a well-established marine engineering & services business that is based in Singapore to lead the company’s operations, service delivery and commercial sales.

Key Responsibilities
Main Scope
  • Marine spares operations (high-volume, fast turnaround, customer-driven environment)
  • Engine sales support & technical advisory
  • After-sales service delivery, troubleshooting and customer escalations
  • Process improvement & systems enhancement to drive productivity and service standards
People Leadership
  • Drive performance and accountability through clear direction and coaching
  • Build a positive team culture that encourages ownership and pride in work
  • Motivate and develop engineers and coordinators to grow into stronger capabilities
  • Improve team stability and retention through strong ground leadership and engagement
Requirements
  • Strong engineering background with hands‑on knowledge in: 4-stroke marine engines, power generators, auxiliary marine equipment / machinery
  • Proven leadership track record leading a sizeable team in a similar industry setting, preferably within marine engineering services, marine equipment distribution, ship spares, engine services, or related after‑market environments.
  • High integrity and professionalism, trusted to represent the company.
  • Highly self‑motivated, hands‑on, and execution focused.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management — able to win trust and handle pressure.
  • Comfortable in a fast‑paced, high expectations environment.
  • Grounded, practical and accountable leadership style.
  • Tech‑savvy and comfortable working with systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Chinese‑speaking is an advantage as this role will interface regularly with team that are based in China.
