Job Summary
We are seeking a results-driven and experienced General Manager to oversee the entire operations of our carpentry business. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of woodworking processes, and a passion for delivering high standards in project execution, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Production
- Lead and manage day-to-day carpentry workshop operations, including production scheduling, material planning, and quality control.
 - Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet client specifications.
 - Monitor and optimize workflow, manpower allocation, and machinery utilization.
 
Project & Client Management
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, designers, and clients to ensure smooth execution of carpentry works.
 - Review technical drawings and site requirements to plan production timelines.
 - Resolve operational or technical issues that arise during production or installation.
 
Business & Financial Oversight
- Develop and manage budgets, cost controls, and profitability targets.
 - Oversee procurement and inventory management of raw materials and supplies.
 - Identify business growth opportunities and lead strategic planning initiatives.
 
Team Leadership
- Supervise and motivate workshop supervisors, foremen, carpenters, and support staff.
 - Ensure proper training, safety practices, and performance evaluations are in place.
 - Build a strong, quality-focused, and safety-conscious work culture.
 
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all operations comply with regulatory standards, including workplace safety (WSH) and environmental requirements.
 - Maintain ISO/QA/QC standards where applicable.
 
Requirements
- Proven experience (minimum 5–8 years) in carpentry, joinery, or furniture manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
 - Strong knowledge of woodworking machinery, production flow, and technical drawings.
 - Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
 - Familiarity with Singapore’s building and construction industry is a plus.
 - Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
 - Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD or woodworking ERP software is an advantage.
 
Working Conditions
- Based at the production site/workshop with occasional site visits.
 - 5.5-day work week or as required by project timelines.
