Job summary

NCS AI Central's Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) role focuses on rapid experimentation with Gen AI models, prompts, and retrieval strategies to deliver evidence-based results in POC/POV engagements. You will design experiments, evaluate outputs, and iterate quickly to improve production readiness.

The role spans collaboration with PMs, engineers, and SMEs, using AWS Bedrock, Vertex AI, or Azure AI Foundry, and leveraging China-origin models when cost-effective.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years hands‑on experience in AI/ML or Gen AI engineering.
• Understanding of Gen AI concepts (tokenization, embeddings, RAG, prompting, evaluation).
• Familiar with at least one cloud AI service: AWS Bedrock, Vertex AI, or Azure AI Foundry.
• Knowledge of China AI models (DeepSeek, Qwen, GLM) is a plus.
• Familiarity with agentic orchestration frameworks (AWS Strands, LangGraph).
• Ability to perform rapid experimentation rather than perfect models.
• Basic proficiency in Python and Gen AI tooling (SDKs, vector DBs).
• Analytical mindset and data wrangling skills.

Responsibilities

• Experiment with model configurations, prompts, and retrieval strategies.
• Profile and clean small datasets; build/simple data ingestion and evaluation pipelines.
• Work with foundation models via cloud services and design agentic workflows.
• Test candidate models and prompts to provide fast go/no-go signals for production.
• Collaborate with PMs, devs, and SMEs to refine prompts and data.
