Job summary

Job description
Overview

The Gallery Associate (Sales & Marketing) will be based at our Paragon store and/or at Tanjong Pagar Distripark space. He/She will be responsible for driving the sales of artworks represented by the gallery and maintain good relationship with the clients besides planning, developing, implementing and managing the overall marketing strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Engage clients who are interested in the artworks and follow up on their queries
  • Prepare all administrative support for sales, including but not limited to preparation of price list, exhibition label, exhibition kit, artwork listings, invoice, agreements, etc
  • Manage all incoming calls and messages to the gallery phone and reply to enquiries in a timely manner
  • Maintain an effective database of clients who may be interested in the works
  • Work closely with the Gallery Manager for all sales, consignments, loans and exhibition-related activities, including arranging client viewings, handling pre- and post-sales activities
  • Create and execute tailored marketing communications plans in support of central marketing initiatives
  • Development, drafting and production of marketing materials including brochures, presentations, event invitations, client collaterals, press releases, web content
  • Develop, communicate, and coordinate marketing calendar with internal business partners – including social media postings pipeline
  • Develop video and other digital channels to develop key messages and scripts where relevant
  • Manage production of campaign effectiveness reports for each campaign and assess against goals (ROI, KPIs)
  • Utilize analytic tools to track and evaluate performance of individual initiatives and overall regional success
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications; establishing personal networks
  • Upkeep the cleanliness and tidiness of the Gallery
  • Perform any additional work that is deemed appropriate for the running of the Gallery
Requirements
  • Min. 1-2 years of experience in sales administration and/or marketing job
  • Diploma or graduate in any Business or Marketing related courses
  • Bilingual in both English & Mandarin to liaise with associates and clients
  • Strong knowledge of the gallery world and of modern and contemporary art
  • PC Literate: MS Office Applications, Adobe Photoshop
  • Customer orientated with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Resourceful and able to work independently
  • Highly motivated and able to undertake pressure
  • Must be extremely well presented, polished, professional and articulate
  • Must have ability to effectively interact with and gain the confidence of clients, artists and internal staffs
  • Meticulous and able to work under tight deadlines
  • Knowledge on inventory control is an advantage
  • Excellent written as well as verbal communication skills
  • Solid negotiation skills
  • Must be able to work on weekends and public holidays
  • Experience in the auction house or gallery or high-end boutique is advantageous
