Overall Responsibilities
  • Working alongside the Teaching team to provide support in Early Years, Drama, Arts and Crafts, Classes, Holiday Programmes, Workshops, Shows and Events.
Job Responsibilities
  • Support the teacher to maintain a safe learning space and help create a fun and supportive environment.
  • Provide support & encouragement within class, developing students’ social and emotional skills.
  • In classes: Set up pre‑school equipment and course activities, carry out routine care duties, conduct drama or dance‑focused classes including singing, storytelling, role play, puppetry, assist in playing out stories and characters, supervise rehearsals, and use positive discipline techniques.
  • In Planning & Preparation: Assist in preparing resources, arts and crafts materials, prepping holiday programme crafts, positing theatre props and scenery for shows, maintain up‑keep and organisation of teaching resources, keep studios and displays tidy during festivals.
  • Child development: Support development of social and emotional skills, articulate programme benefits to parents, build good relationships with children, parents and teachers, attend staff meetings and training, and undertake professional development activities in‑house and externally.

Working Hours
  • 44 hour week.
  • Two days off – Sunday and one weekday.
  • Candidate must be able to commit to Saturdays.

$1700 - $3,000 PCM – dependent on age, experience and qualifications.

The ideal candidates are engaging with children and young people, dynamic, enthusiastic, reliable, friendly, warm, artistic, organised, possess strong communication skills and are self‑motivated and committed to supporting all our programmes and workshops.

Assistant Teachers should actively collaborate with the team, participate in all events, and further Centre Stage’s vision and ethos while maintaining standards.

Ideal but not Essential
  • GCE ‘O’ Levels.
  • A Certificate or Diploma in Education or equivalent, or working toward a relevant qualification.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a school or arts centre setting.
