Job summary

Dementia Research Centre Singapore (DRCS) seeks a motivated Research Assistant to build digital solutions for cognitive and mental healthcare within NTU's LKCMedicine ecosystem. You will join a dynamic research environment and contribute to innovative health technology projects.

Work with researchers and clinicians to translate requirements into web and mobile apps using React, Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS, while upholding quality, security, and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline; candidates with a Diploma and relevant industry experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Strong hands-on experience in full-stack application development.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Experience in developing backend services using Node.js.
• Experience in developing web applications using React.
• Experience in developing mobile or cross-platform applications using React Native.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and deployment environments.
• Experience building responsive and mobile-compatible web applications.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality software.

Responsibilities

• Full-stack application development including design, development, testing, and maintenance of web and mobile apps.
• Build responsive front-ends using React and React Native; develop back-end services with Node.js/TypeScript.
• Deploy, manage, and monitor cloud-based applications on AWS; ensure security and reliability.
• Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, UI/UX designers, and other developers to translate research requirements into digital solutions.
• Participate in product ideation, prototyping, and iterative development; contribute to analytics and data-driven features.
• Support integration of research-driven features and documentation for operational procedures.
