Key responsibilities
- Manage daily operations: Oversee inbound and outbound shipping, coordinate import/export logistics, and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Carrier and vendor management: Monitor freight carriers, negotiate contracts, and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners.
- Cost and efficiency optimization: Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and optimize resources.
- Shipment tracking and problem-solving: Track shipments, resolve issues that arise during transit, and manage customer inquiries and complaints.
- Documentation and compliance: Ensure accurate and timely documentation, and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and safety standards (e.g., hazardous materials).
- Cross-departmental coordination: Collaborate with other departments, such as warehouse staff, to ensure all shipping-related processes are coordinated effectively.

- Logistics and supply chain knowledge: Deep understanding of logistics processes, including freight forwarding, cargo management, and supply chain optimization.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop effective solutions.
- Communication and interpersonal skills: Strong communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, carriers, and clients.
- Management and leadership: Ability to manage a team, set expectations, and review job performance.
- Technical proficiency: Experience with relevant management systems (e.g., Sysfreight) and an understanding of data analytics is often required.
