Job summary

Google LLC in Singapore is seeking a Manager of GenAI Forward Deployed Engineering to lead a squad of AI/ML engineers delivering bespoke agentic solutions within customer environments. You will mentor the team, align with Product, Engineering, and Regional Sales, and remove blockers for enterprise-grade AI deployments.

The role requires leading AI initiatives from proof-of-concept to production, with strong collaboration across global teams, including DeepMind access, Vertex AI, and Gemini

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM fields or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years in cloud computing or technical customer-facing role.
• 2 years leading a software engineering/forward deployed engineering team in cloud.
• Experience developing GenAI solutions and multi-agent workflows.
• Experience leading AI solutions from conception to launch with China-go-Global clients.
• Fluent Mandarin and English.

• Partner with business and tech leadership to define requirements for high-value opportunities, deploying specialized experts to key accounts.
• Lead technical hiring for forward deployed engineering, evaluating AI expertise, systems engineering, and coding skills to build an engineering squad.
• Identify skill gaps in emerging tech, ensuring the team maintains subject matter expertise in an evolving AI stack.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to resolve blockers and translate field insights into road maps.

• 2 years of experience managing a software engineering, forward deployed engineering, or a similar technical customer-facing team in a cloud computing environment.


• Experience developing AI/Generative AI (GenAI) solutions utilizing AI tools and designing multi-agent workflows and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.


• Experience leading AI solutions from conception to launch for customers and technical discovery sessions with China-go-Global customers.


• Ability to communicate in Mandarin and English fluently to conduct necessary business interaction with China-go-Global clients.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in AI, Computer Science, or a related technical field.


• Experience in designing intuitive interfaces for complex AI and agentic systems, prioritizing context engineering, transparency, and explainability to foster user trust.


• Experience in architecting AI solutions within complex infrastructures, ensuring data sovereignty and secure governance.


• Ability to perform deep ‘discovery’ interviews to find the true business problem and translate complex hardware/AI constraints for C-suites and deep-technical teams.


• Ability to design secure, observable multi-agent systems using complex design patterns (e.g., ReAct, self-reflection), state management, and tool-calling protocols.
