Akila, based in Singapore, is hiring an entry-level Forward Deployed Engineer to bridge customer success and engineering. You will deploy our AI-native platform at customer sites, gather requirements, and learn fast in-field under mentorship from senior engineers.
You'll work with tools like Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT to build integrations, automations and features, while supporting customers and helping them adopt the platform across Singapore and the region.
Akila is building the nervous system for the physical world. Our AI-native Operational Digital Twin platform gives organizations a continuously evolving system of record for their physical operations — combining evidence from people, documents, systems, assets, spatial models and live data so that anyone can ask an operational question and receive an evidence-backed answer that nobody had to prepare in advance. We deploy across large real-estate, industrial and infrastructure portfolios worldwide.
Singapore is our hub for Southeast Asia, and this is an entry point into it. The role is deliberately hybrid: part customer success, part engineering. You will be close enough to the customer to hear the problem in their own words, and close enough to the code to do something about it.
This position is designed for graduates, apprentices or early-career engineers who have completed an internship or equivalent experience and want a first professional role with far more range than a standard graduate software job.
Working alongside senior Sales Managers and Solutions Engineers, you will help deploy our platform at customer sites, support the people who use it every day, and build the integrations, automations and features those customers need — using AI-assisted development tools and with mentoring from our global R&D team. You are not expected to arrive knowing enterprise deployment. You are expected to learn it fast, in the field.
You enjoy problems that arrive badly defined. You communicate as easily with a facility manager as with an engineer. You take ownership from discovery through delivery rather than stopping at the handover. You learn new technologies quickly, you are curious about how AI is reshaping both software engineering and physical operations, and you would rather ship something imperfect and improve it than wait for perfect. Above all, you are comfortable not knowing — and fast at fixing that.
This role is designed as the first step in a long career, not a rotation. You will be mentored by senior engineers, product leaders and the regional commercial team, and will progressively take ownership of larger customer engagements and more consequential technical work.
From here, people grow into Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Architect, Product Engineer, Technical Product Manager, AI Solutions Engineer, Customer Success Manager or Engineering Lead — depending on which half of this hybrid you find you love more.
You will be part of a team building AI-native enterprise software used by leading organisations across Asia, Europe and the Middle East, deployed across tens of millions of square metres of real assets. From your first weeks you will be on customer sites, in the product, and in the code — with significantly broader experience than either a traditional graduate engineering role or a traditional customer success role would give you.
