Job Summary

We are looking for someone to lead the procurement department and be responsible for the entire procurement process from end-to-end.

As a key player in our dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to make high-impact decisions to promote efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.

You will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the end-to-end procurement process, encompassing strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, price negotiations, documentation clearance, sample evaluation, inventory management, turnover optimization, and quality assurance.

Job Description
  • Sourcing – To reach out directly to new potential suppliers to source products or form business partnerships.
  • Supplier Relationship Management – To maintain and improve business relationships with existing suppliers.
  • Price negotiations – To negotiate competitive market prices of products to improve P/L and turnover.
  • Documentation Clearance – To handle and process various food import documents to ensure compliance of imports according to regulatory requirements in Singapore.
  • Sample Evaluation – Evaluate characteristics of the product to assess its eligibility in the market and communicate the results back to suppliers for optimization.
  • Inventory Management and Turnover Optimization – Use of data skills to plan and optimize inventory turnover based upon existing stock levels, historical trends, future projections, industry prices and current storage capacities.
  • Quality Assurance – To regularly evaluate and ensure that products are of the same quality as promised by suppliers.
  • Procurement Strategy – Contribute your expertise, knowledge and evaluations of the market towards improving the company’s current procurement direction and strategy
  • Record Keeping – Maintain and contribute to the current supplier database, optimize the organization of current files such as quotations and catalogues
Job Requirements
  • Intermediate level of familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications – Sharepoint, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform intermediate level of quantitative and qualitative data modelling combining data from historical sources, existing conditions, and future projections using any software of your choice.
  • Confidence in your own ability to independently make decisions in all procurement-related matters.
  • Ability to understand and predict price trends purchased materials based upon historical prices, macroeconomic factors, and industry knowledge.
  • Knowledge in ERP / WMS systems such as Odo would be beneficial
  • Prior experience in the Frozen Food / Seafood Industry would be helpful but Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills and self-motivation with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
