Yang Chong Ong Food Trading Merchant in Singapore is seeking a Food Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee daily processing and production operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in line with company standards and customer specifications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Set up and adjust processing machines according to product specifications and production requirements.

Job Summary

The Food Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible foroverseeing daily food processing and production operations to ensure productsare manufactured safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company qualitystandards and customer specifications. This role supervises production staff,operates and monitors food processing machinery, optimizes productionprocesses, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to maximizeproductivity while maintaining compliance with food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily food manufacturing and processing activities to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot food processing equipment and machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Set up and adjust processing machines according to product specifications, production requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor machine performance and coordinate preventive maintenance with the maintenance team to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, HACCP, GMP, SFA regulations, workplace safety requirements, and company operating procedures.
  • Lead, supervise, and allocate work assignments to production operators and processing staff to achieve production targets.
  • Train employees on machine operation, food processing techniques, hygiene standards, quality control procedures, and workplace safety.
  • Monitor product quality throughout the production process and implement corrective actions when deviations occur.
  • Analyze production performance, identify operational bottlenecks, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product yield.
  • Optimize workflow, manpower allocation, equipment utilization, and production sequencing to improve overall operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate production records, machine operating logs, quality documentation, and inventory usage reports.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, and Production Planning teams to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and traceability of raw materials and finished products.
  • Investigate production issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, food safety, and workplace safety.
Requirements
  • Diploma, Higher NITEC, or equivalent qualification in Food Technology, Food Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing or food processing operations.
  • Hands-on experience operating and supervising food processing machinery, such as slicers, grinders, mixers, tumblers, portioning equipment, vacuum packaging machines, and automated production systems.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, food hygiene, quality assurance, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of production planning, process optimization, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot production equipment and coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
