Job summary

A leading employment service provider in Singapore is seeking an experienced kitchen assistant. Responsibilities include assisting in food preparation for lessons, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and monitoring supplies. Job description

Contract Period: From 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026 with an option to extend for another year

Working Hours
  • Mon to Thu: 7:00am – 4:30pm, 1hr lunch break
  • Fri: 7:00am – 4:00pm, 1hr lunch break
  • No work on Sat, Sun and gazetted public holidays
Scope of Services
  • Adheres to school policies and promotes good food safety across the school and supports the cleanliness of food laboratories (school kitchens).
  • Assists the Nutrition and Food Science teacher(s) in preparing food items for lessons as requested.
  • Carrying out cooking of food by frying, boiling, steaming etc., using all large and small kitchen equipment provided.
  • Labelling, covering and storing unused food after each lesson.
  • Day-to-day cleaning of food preparation areas and equipment and in-depth cleaning tasks on a weekly/ monthly/ termly basis of equipment and surfaces as instructed as part of cleaning programme.
  • Monitoring of stock inventory (food and/or cleaning supplies) and keeping the teachers informed before supply runs out.
  • Resets layouts in the food laboratories (school kitchens) after each lesson as requested.
  • Takes responsibility for the closing down of the food laboratories (school kitchens) when required, at the end of the day, including switching off all appliances, storing items appropriately and carrying out cleaning closedown tasks.
  • Takes part in cooking activities with the students as part of their school day and extra curriculum activities.
  • Reports any abuse or vandalism by students to teacher-in-charge during and after each lesson.
  • Alerts the Nutrition and Food Science teacher(s) of any defects or Health and Safety issues as soon as they arise.
  • Assist in tracking of fixed assets and stores, facilitate stock‑take exercises where applicable.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
