Role Overview

As a Flavourist, you will lead flavour development projects and contribute to the creation of high-quality flavour solutions aligned with business and customer needs. Working as part of an international, collaborative team, you will support innovation, technical excellence, and customer satisfaction across a wide range of applications.

Key Responsibilities
Flavour Creation & Development
  • Develop new flavours or modify existing ones to meet project, customer, or technology requirements
  • Manage assigned projects end-to-end, ensuring delivery of flavours that meet defined performance, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing standards
  • Execute daily creation and evaluation activities, including sample preparation, testing, and scale-up considerations
  • Collaborate closely with portfolio, application, consumer insight, and innovation teams to address tonality gaps and drive flavour innovation
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the flavour creation palette in partnership with innovation, compliance, and procurement teams
Knowledge Sharing & Technical Expertise
  • Act as a technical expert and advisor on flavour and ingredient performance for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support mentoring and knowledge sharing within the flavour creation community
  • Contribute to global collaboration and capability building across flavour creation teams
  • Participate in cross-functional learning across areas such as analytical chemistry, sensory science, consumer understanding, regulatory, manufacturing, and flavour delivery
  • Support resolution of technical issues related to flavour production and, where required, customer complaints

What You Bring
  • Polytechnic diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline
  • 7–10 years of professional experience in flavour creation
  • Formal flavourist training covering multiple aspects of flavour development
  • Strong skills in using a broad range of flavour tools and ingredients to create cost-effective, high-impact flavours
  • Advanced tasting and sensory evaluation skills
  • Proven experience engaging with customers to translate project briefs into effective flavour solutions
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex development projects
  • Working knowledge of local and regional flavour regulatory requirements
  • Practical understanding of application processes, ingredients, and manufacturing procedures
  • Strong knowledge of flavour manufacturing equipment and production processes
