Job summary

BigHire in Singapore is seeking a Project Mechanical Engineer to lead fire protection projects. You will plan, coordinate, and supervise installation of fire sprinkler systems, pumps, and piping across sites, ensuring compliance with NFPA standards.

The role requires 2–3 years of experience, a mechanical engineering degree, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and willingness to work at project sites. AutoCAD or Revit skills are plus; familiarity with global standards is needed.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years’ experience in fire protection or M&E projects.
• Familiarity with NFPA, BS, MS, and local fire authority standards/regulations.
• Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Willing to work at project sites and handle multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule project activities in line with approved timelines.
• Prepare technical drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material submittals for approvals.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers for project execution.
• Supervise installation of fire sprinkler systems, piping, pumps, and related equipment.
• Carry out system testing and commissioning, including hydrostatic and flow tests, and coordinate inspections.
• Prepare project progression reports, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Monitor costs, materials and manpower to ensure efficiency.
