FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Controllership of multi-asset portfolios.
- Change Management responsibilities including transitions to new systems / operating models.
- Oversight and refinement of regulatory reporting, ensuring full compliance with local and international financial reporting standards.
- Risk Management and Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing changes to streamline fund operations.
- Holds end-to-end ownership of governance and internal control processes within the back-office function.
- Support the preparation of board packs covering back-office areas such as financials, compliance monitoring, and operational controls. Process improvement to finetune the reporting framework.
- Lead strategic financial planning and support mid-office processes to enhance investment performance analysis, portfolio oversight, and operational efficiency.
- Perform periodic reconciliations of financials and investments records.
- Managing finance data repository.
- Stay abreast of Accounting & Transfer Pricing policies as well as International Financial Accounting Standards.
- Liaising with 3rd party service providers including Auditors.
- Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree holder in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics with Fund Controllership Experience.
- Demonstrated track record of leading or actively participating in change management initiatives—such as new system rollouts or implementation of new processes—within a fund management environment.
- Prior experience in change management, fund accounting & investment reporting or related roles with a minimum 6-7 years experience.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to details are necessary for analysing investment performance metrics, identifying trends, and conducting risk assessments. The ability to interpret complex data and generate meaningful insights is highly valuable.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines and prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exhibits a calm and composed demeanour, while upholding a strong sense of urgency and accountability in the execution of responsibilities.
- Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to identify operational inefficiencies, develop solutions, and implement process improvements is crucial for optimizing investment operations and enhancing efficiency.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with Bloomberg / Other portfolio management software.
- Self-motivated, hands-on, takes initiative and able to work independently.
