About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Financial Controller to lead our finance & accounting function, ensure robust financial governance, provide insights and support to senior leadership, and help drive operational and strategic financial performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for the integrity of financial data, operational control of the finance function, and will partner with business units to support growth and business decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the full spectrum of finance & accounting operations: general ledger, month‑end and year‑end closing, accounts payable/receivable, payroll reconciliations, inter‑company transactions and consolidation as required.
  • Prepare and present accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports; ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/SFRS), tax and regulatory requirements within Singapore.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning; monitor performance against budget, analyse variances, identify risks & opportunities, and recommend actionable insights.
  • Implement, maintain and continuously improve internal controls, finance policies, procedures and systems to safeguard company assets, ensure data integrity and efficiency of operations.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, funding/financing matters and support treasury-related tasks if applicable.
  • Partner with business unit heads and senior management on strategic initiatives, operational planning, and business expansion (e.g., new products, geographies, M&A) by providing financial modelling and business partnering.
  • Lead, mentor and develop the finance team; drive process improvement and automation of finance operations.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors and regulatory authorities; coordinate audit and tax filings, ensure statutory compliance and manage risk.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. A professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Typically 10+ years of relevant finance & accounting experience, with at least 3‑5 years in a senior leadership or controllership role in a mid to large sized organisation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Singapore / regional accounting standards (SFRS/IFRS), tax legislation, audit processes, internal controls, and finance systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, variance analysis and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership ability: managing finance teams, driving operational/process improvement (including automation or systems enhancement), and managing change.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills; the ability to partner with non‑finance stakeholders, translate financial data into business‑level insights and influence decision‑making.
  • High integrity, strong attention to detail, ability to work under deadlines and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in a business with multiple entities, regional exposure, or industry with regulatory complexity is a plus.
