Job summary

Mercor is seeking an Investment Finance Expert (CL Funnel) for a remote contract role. Compensation is $100/hour and a commitment of 10+ hours per week.

You will design realistic finance scenarios for AI training, build supporting materials, and author and evaluate finance tasks across investment banking, M&A, private equity, and corporate finance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of finance experience at a recognized institution.
• Experience with Excel/financial modeling and tools like Bloomberg/Capital IQ/FactSet.
• Commitment of at least 10 hours per week.
• Senior-level experience and cross-discipline exposure preferred.
• Advanced degree or professional credential (MBA/PhD, CFA/CPA/FRM) encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Design realistic financial scenarios to train AI agents.
• Create models, memos, filings, and data to support tasks.
• Evaluate finance tasks for model training with emphasis on valuation, deal execution, and diligence.
• Develop three-statement modeling and FP&A forecasting.
• Cover investment banking, M&A, private equity, and related areas.

Investment Finance Expert (CL Funnel) Type: Contract

Commitment: 10+ hours/week

Role Responsibilities

• Design realistic, complex scenarios from your practice area to train AI agents.
• Build supporting materials such as models, memos, filings, and data.
• Author and evaluate finance tasks for AI model training.
• Emphasize valuation, deal execution, and diligence in Investment Banking & M&A.
• Focus on underwriting and LBO modeling in Private Equity & Private Credit.
• Develop three-statement modeling and forecasting in Corporate Finance & FP&A.

Qualifications

• Must-Have
• 3+ years of substantive, recent, hands-on finance experience at a recognized institution.
• Direct experience with Excel/financial modeling and relevant tools like Bloomberg/Capital IQ/FactSet.
• A 10+ hours/week commitment.
• Preferred
• Experience at the senior end (VP, Director, Principal, Managing Director, Portfolio Manager, Controller, CFO).
• Experience across two or more disciplines or on both the buy side and sell side.
• An advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) and/or a recognized credential (CFA, CPA, FRM, actuarial designation).
