Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is seeking a Finance Manager in Singapore. The successful candidate will oversee financial statements, manage audits, and ensure compliance with tax regulations. Applicants should have at least 5 years of experience, strong technical knowledge of Singapore Income Tax, and excellent analytical skills. This role requires a bachelor's degree in Finance or a professional qualification, and proficiency in tools such as Microsoft D365 is advantageous.

Qualifications

Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Singapore - Central

As part of its global financial transformation, the company has set up a Global Treasury Centre in Singapore to centralize and optimize its treasury functions. This strategic hub plays a critical role in enhancing group-wide financial efficiency, managing foreign exchange risks, and leveraging tax incentives, while ensuring robust financial governance and compliance across international operations.

Your New Role
  • Review individual and consolidated financial statements prepared by outsourced vendors; elevate critical issues to Asia Regional Director.
  • Coordinate external audits, including planning, documentation, and response to findings.
  • Handle ad-hoc accounting matters (e.g., impairment tests) and respond to Swiss parent company requests.
  • Review and update financial policies, approval matrices, and SOPs to strengthen internal controls.
  • Support internal audits and implement control improvements.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reviews.
  • Manage inter-company transactions and departmental budgets.
  • Secure working capital and manage surplus funds.
  • Oversee banking operations, fund transfers, and cash management policies.
  • Act as authorized bank signatory and electronic banking administrator; ensure KYC compliance.
  • Verify corporate tax returns and respond to tax audits/inquiries.
  • Prepare transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance with BEPS 2.0 requirements.
Key Qualifications for Success
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accountancy, or a professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or CA.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Singapore Income Tax, including GST, withholding tax, and cross-border international tax.
  • In-depth understanding of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
  • Proven experience in treasury management, including surplus fund management, FX control and hedging, group cash optimization, cash pooling, and treasury system implementation.
  • Independent, self-driven, with excellent business judgment, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Microsoft D365 and Hyperion is an advantage.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure, including occasional weekends and public holidays.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to converse in Japanese is a benefit for liaising with counterparts in Japan.
  • Experience working in a Japanese organization will be considered an advantage.
