Job description

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct support staff in all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions
• Manage working capital, working with the management team for timely customer collections and aligning cash disbursements consistent with incoming cash receipts
• Manage cash flows and monitor inter‑related companies’ borrowings, ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational requirements
• Prepare GIRO settlements for suppliers and workers’ salaries
• Prepare monthly financial statements, reconciliations/analysis of all balance sheet accounts and bank reconciliation for the company and related entities
• Prepare quarterly GST returns
• Prepare year‑end reports for statutory compliance (ECI and Form C)
• Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts
• Review and track performance by monitoring variance from forecasts, emphasize potential causes and identify areas for improvement
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretaries, bankers, insurers, lawyers and statutory bodies
• Assist the Managing Director in decision‑making regarding the company’s financial aspects and ensure statutory compliance is upheld

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor of Accountancy or equivalent
• Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore or an equivalent overseas CPA
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar supervisory or senior‑level finance/accounting role
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, and budgeting
• Knowledge of marine operations, project cost analysis and work‑in‑progress calculation
• Knowledge of Singapore financial regulations and compliance on matters related to ACRA, IRAS, MOM and CPF
• Knowledge of accounting software and keeping abreast with technological advancements
• Knowledge of factoring or invoice financing
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports and projections
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
