Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the company’s overall financial management, including accounting, reporting, and compliance.
- Handle full set of accounts independently, including month-end closing and financial statements preparation.
- Manage and review GST filings, Ensure correct GST coding and entries, aligned with IRAS and company reporting requirements.
- Manage staff claims and reimbursements, and ensure all financial records comply with statutory requirements.
- Manage the full Accounts Payable (AP) process, including supplier invoice verification and timely payment preparation.
- Accurately record vendor invoices and employee expense claims in the Xero accounting system, ensuring compliance with company policies and approval procedures.
- Prepare and maintain the full set of accounts, including general ledger, accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and fixed asset schedules.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure accurate financial data.
- Prepare financial statements and management reports in accordance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and company timelines.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, review of P&L variances, and audit coordination.
- Liaise with external auditors and ensure the completion of statutory audits within deadlines.
- Consolidate financial statements across overseas subsidiaries for group-level reporting.
- Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting, and provide recommendations to management for performance improvement.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and automation of financial operations.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or professional qualifications such as ACCA / CPA / CA (intermediate ACCA level accepted).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in handling full set of accounts.
- Proficient in Xero, QuickBooks, or other major accounting software.
- Sound knowledge of GST filing, bank reconciliation, and Singapore financial compliance.
- Able to liaise with Mandarin-speaking counterparts in China.
- Meticulous, responsible, and detail-oriented, with strong analytical and time management skills.
- Proactive, independent, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-border environment.
- A collaborative team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
