Job description
Overview

We are looking for a Finance Manager with strong distribution finance operations experience. This role is heavily focused on day-to-day operational finance — managing inventory, working closely with sales, operations, and warehouse teams, and ensuring smooth financial processes across the supply chain. The Finance Manager will also oversee treasury, cash flow, and compliance, while maintaining close relationships with banks to support daily operations and funding needs.

Responsibilities

Financial Operations

  • Lead and streamline the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring effective coordination with internal stakeholders and timely issuance of purchase orders.

  • Oversee outstanding purchase orders and ensure accurate, timely payments to suppliers, including the correct application of credit notes.

  • Manage all inventory-related activities, including inter-warehouse transfers, write-offs, and system adjustments.

  • Supervise monthly sales and inventory reconciliations with customers and suppliers to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Approve monthly sales invoices for inventory sold on settlement terms.

  • Lead and coordinate annual stock-takes, ensuring necessary adjustments are reflected in inventory systems.

  • Ensure consistent reconciliation between inventory and financial accounting records monthly.

Treasury, Cash Flow & Banking

  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital requirements.

  • Work closely with banks on daily treasury operations, FX, credit facilities, and cross-border settlements.

  • Manage trade credit lines and ensure sufficient facilities to support operation activities.

  • Optimize liquidity, monitor financing costs, and ensure compliance with banking covenants.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Review monthly entity-level financial statements and provide operational insights.

  • Conduct variance analysis on revenue, gross profit, discounts/rebates, and working capital.

  • Support group reporting requirements and assist with consolidation processes when required.

Audit, Tax & Compliance

  • Coordinate statutory audits, liaising with auditors and tax advisors.

  • Ensure compliance with Singapore statutory filings, tax requirements, and internal policies.

  • Strengthen internal controls, governance frameworks, and financial policies.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage and mentor junior finance team members, fostering professional growth.

  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with sales, operations, and warehouse teams to drive accountability.

Process Improvement

  • Standardize finance workflows across procurement, inventory, invoicing, and collections.

  • Drive automation and efficiency improvements in reporting and reconciliations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. Professional qualifications (CPA, ACCA, CA) preferred.

  • 6–8 years of progressive finance/accounting experience with a strong distribution finance operations background.

  • Hands-on experience in inventory management, sales/operations coordination, and warehouse-related finance.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with banks on treasury, FX, and credit facilities.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/FRS and local compliance requirements.

  • Proficiency in Xero and advanced Excel skills; experience with procurement/inventory systems is an advantage.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
