Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accountancy, Accounting & Finance or a related discipline.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, and pivot tables.
  • Interest and familiarity with AI tools and a willingness to apply them responsibly to improve productivity, automate routine tasks, summarise information, and enhance financial process efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in month-end and year-end financial close activities for assigned entities.
  • Support the preparation and posting of journal entries, including accruals and other close-related adjustments.
  • Prepare and maintain supporting schedules for key financial statement line items.
  • Assist in preparing entity-level financial statements from trial balances and underlying accounting records.
  • Perform basic checks to ensure financial statement balances are consistent with supporting schedules and accounting records.
  • Support and take ownership of assigned consolidation workstreams for selected financial statement captions.
  • Extract, compile, and validate relevant balances from consolidation or reporting systems.
  • Liaise with portfolio companies on reporting submissions and follow up on missing or incomplete information.
  • Review submissions for completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Track submission status, outstanding issues, and resolution progress during the reporting cycle.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, portfolio companies, and auditors where required to clarify inputs and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain proper documentation, version control, and audit trail for consolidation workings and related deliverables.
  • Support the review and enhancement of existing financial close, consolidation, and reporting processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Assist in streamlining templates, trackers, and supporting schedules used during reporting cycles.
  • Support the automation or simplification of recurring reporting tasks using Excel functions, pivot tables, lookups, and other available tools.

Introduction

The Finance Intern will support the Finance team across entity-level financial close, financial statements preparation, consolidation,and financial process enhancement . The role involves assisting with month-end and year-end close activities, preparing supporting schedules, supporting entity-level financial statements, and performing checks to ensure balances are accurate and properly supported.

The intern will also support and take ownership of selected consolidation workstreams, including extracting and validating system data, reviewing portfolio company submissions, tracking outstanding issues, and supporting financial statement outputs.

This role provides hands‑on exposure to financial reporting, consolidation, stakeholder management, and process improvement. It is suited for an Accountancy or Accounting & Finance undergraduate who is detail-oriented, analytical, comfortable working with Excel and AI tools, and keen to learn in a fast‑pacedenvironment.

Responsibilities
Entity-level Financial Close and Financial Statements Preparation
  • Assist in month-end and year-end financial close activities for assigned entities.
  • Support the preparation and posting of journal entries, including accruals and other close-related adjustments.
  • Prepare and maintain supporting schedules for key financial statement line items.
  • Assist in preparing entity-level financial statements from trial balances and underlying accounting records.
  • Perform basic checks to ensure financial statement balances are consistent with supporting schedules and accounting records.
Consolidation
  • Support and take ownership of assigned consolidation workstreams for selected financial statement captions, from system data extraction through to financial statement outputs.
