Job summary

Amgen Singapore is seeking a Finance Intern to support FP&A, reporting and business partnering activities. You will help prepare monthly management reports, perform variance analysis, consolidate data for budgets and forecasts, and assist in maintaining financial templates in Excel, Anaplan and Hyperion.

You will gain exposure to SEA leadership meetings, contribute to dashboards and ad‑hoc analyses, and collaborate with Country Finance teams to improve processes.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; familiarity with Miro.
• High attention to detail and accountability.
• Good written and verbal English communication.
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, able to work independently and in a team.
• Interest in learning Power BI and ChatGPT to enhance reporting and analysis.

Title: Finance Intern

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Support

• Assist in preparing monthly management reports, variance analysis, and performance dashboards.
• Support data collection, validation, and consolidation for budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans.
• Maintain and update data in financial tools and templates (Excel, Anaplan, Hyperion).
• Help prepare presentation slides for SEA leadership meetings and financial reviews.
• Perform master data maintenance and ensure data accuracy.

2. Reporting & Accounting Assistance

• Support month-end and quarter-end closing activities, including journal templates, accrual tracking, and reconciliations.

3. Business Partnering Exposure

• Support ad-hoc analysis on sales performance, operating expenses trends, and cost efficiency.
• Participate in meetings with finance business partners to observe how financial insights support decision-making.

4. Process Improvement Initiatives

• Collaborate with Country Finance Managers (both FP&A and F&A) to understand current process and improvement area.
• Document key finance processes and assist in identifying simplification and standardization opportunities.
• Support automation or template optimization projects to enhance reporting efficiency.
• Learn and apply new tools (e.g., Power BI, ChatGPT) to deliver real-time insights through interactive dashboards and reports.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
