Reports to: Group Accountant / Assistant Finance Manager (Consolidation & Tax)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Purpose

We are seeking a meticulous and technically strong General Ledger (G/L) Accountant to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records across multiple entities within the group.

This role covers the full spectrum of general ledger management, including journal entries, fixed and intangible assets, inventory control, GST preparation, and FRS 116 lease accounting.

Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Month-End Closing
  • Prepare, validate, and post all journal entries (accruals, prepayments, amortisations, provisions, reclassifications, etc.).
  • Prepare balance sheet schedules and ensure all GL accounts are accurately reconciled and supported by documentation.
  • Collaborate with AP/AR and Operations teams to ensure proper cut-off and coding.
Fixed Assets (FA) & Intangible Assets (IA)
  • Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register — additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation.
  • Validate capitalisation vs. expense classification in compliance with FRS 16 (Property, Plant & Equipment) and FRS 38 (Intangible Assets).
  • Manage lease schedules in accordance with FRS 116 (Leases), including monthly postings and remeasurement adjustments.
  • Support audit requirements with complete FA/FRS 116 schedules and documentation.
Inventory Accounting
  • Reconcile inventory GL balances to stock movement and valuation reports.
  • Review inventory provisions, adjustments, and cost of sales entries.
  • Support monthly stock counts and variance analysis with operations teams.
GST & Tax Compliance
  • Prepare and file quarterly GST returns, ensuring accurate tax coding and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in corporate tax computation and liaise with tax agents/auditors on queries.
  • Ensure compliance with IRAS requirements and maintain audit-ready records.
Intercompany Billings
  • Prepare intercompany invoices and supporting documentation accurately and timely.
  • Coordinate internal team and resolve intercompany billing discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and timely settlements.
Audit Support
  • Assist in annual financial audit for both local and regional markets.
