Job summary

A leading energy firm in Singapore is seeking a Finance Operations professional with at least 5 years of experience. The role includes monthly closing activities, managing fixed assets, and supporting audits. Ideally, the candidate possesses strong communication skills, a diploma in accountancy, and proficiency in MS Office, with experience in SAP or Oracle being a plus. Qualifications

  • Perform bank reconciliation and closing activities.

Job description

General Overview

The incumbent shall be involved in monthly closing activities, assist Accountant and maintaining the Company’s fixed asset register.

Roles and Responsibilities

The incumbent shall be responsible for the following activities. The scope includes but is not limited to the following:

Monthly Closing Activities
  • Perform bank reconciliation.
  • Prepare accruals and monthly journal entries.
  • Prepare financial schedules upon completion of monthly closing.
  • Support Accountant during month end closing.
  • Liaise with auditors for yearly statutory audit.
Fixed Asset Register Administration
  • Perform the verification of Company's fixed assets from time to time include asset sighting, count and circularization.
  • Creation of asset shell and ensure accuracy of fixed asset data created in system.
Adhoc Matters
  • Perform manual debit note, mothly grant requisition, monthly wharfage declaration and annual wharfage audit.
  • Quarterly and annual statistice reporting.
  • Prepare half-yearly stock count and annual asset count.
  • Support internal and special audits.
  • Assist in system improvement projects.

Work Experiences

  • Candidate shall have at least 5 years of hands‑on experience in Finance Operations in big organisations or MNCs.
  • Candidate with prior experience in working a multi‑cultural environment is an advantage.
  • Candidate shall be proficient with MS Office applications. Candidates have performed financial processing using SAP or Oracle system is preferred.
  • Candidates shall also have in depth knowledge and understanding in financial principles and transactions.
  • Successful candidate shall also possess the following personal attributes:
    • A team player with strong interpersonal and communications skills with ability to interact with people at all levels.
    • Possess high customer orientation and is tactful and diplomatic.
    • Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines and multitask.

Education Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent.
  • Candidates with ACCA qualifications will have an advantage.
