Job Purpose:
The Field Service Specialist is responsible for providing on-site installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repair services for Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and related equipment. This role ensures high-quality service delivery, minimizes equipment downtime, and maintains strong customer satisfaction through professional technical expertise and support.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation & Commissioning
- Perform on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of UPS systems and related equipment.
- Verify system performance and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Provide operational handover and basic training to customers.
2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure reliable UPS performance.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair UPS systems and batteries at customer sites.
- Respond to emergency service calls and resolve breakdowns efficiently.
3. Customer Interaction & Support
- Act as the company’s on-site representative, ensuring professional customer engagement.
- Advise customers on proper UPS operation, safety measures, and maintenance best practices.
- Escalate unresolved issues to senior engineers or technical managers.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare detailed service reports, maintenance checklists, and fault analysis records.
- Update service databases with accurate information on work performed.
- Provide feedback on recurring technical issues for continuous improvement.
5. Coordination & Logistics
- Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics team for spare parts and replacement units.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and return of defective parts and equipment.
- Support project teams in large-scale installations or service contracts.
6. Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to company safety guidelines and site-specific safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance with warranty terms, service procedures, and quality standards.
- Participate in regular technical and safety training programs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Nitec / Higher Nitec in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
- 2–3 years’ experience in field service, preferably in UPS systems or power protection equipment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, batteries, and power systems.
- Hands‑on experience in installation, troubleshooting, and repair of UPS units.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently and work at customer sites, including after‑hours if required.
