Role and Responsibilities

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is responsible for driving Leica’s field service operations forward through the Danaher Business System, focusing on continuous improvement of operational metrics, optimization of resources, and team support. This role ensures customer satisfaction through training, break-fix service, preventive maintenance, installation, contract delivery, and by identifying service sales opportunities across Leica’s portfolio of microscopy solutions.

This position reports to the Service Manager, SEA and is part of the Service Organization, covering Southeast Asia with regional travel.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and service Leica microscopes and software for both direct customers and indirect business through channel partners, ensuring uptime through preventive maintenance and effective issue resolution.
  • Achieve key service metrics (Revenue/Order Growth, TTR, First-Time Fix, Utilization/Productivity, CES) while ensuring compliance with EHS standards.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and identify service sales leads to drive customer success and business growth.
Essential Requirements
  • Technical degree or equivalent with multiple years of field service experience.
  • Strong technical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the SEA region.
Preferred Experience

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Biomedical engineering training or prior field service experience in life sciences.
  • Knowledge or training on Leica microscopy products.
  • Experience in handling lasers in confocal microscopy.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements
  • Ability to travel regionally (~30%) to customer and channel partner sites
