Job description
Responsibilities
  • Experience and ability to manage electrical and instrumentation engineering projects with knowledge of how to establish estimates for Variation Order/Change Order works.
  • Managing, allocating resources and ensuring completion of E&I work orders.
  • Leading the electricians and instrument technicians in finding and executing solutions to E&I problems on site.
  • Planning and organization E&I project work, including plant shutdowns/ Turnaround (TAR) works.
  • Able to have understanding the control system architecture and software sufficient to find and modify elements.
  • Communicating with Project Engineer / QC engineer to validate and document all changes and highlight Project Manager for changes that shall involve additional work.
  • Nominating and training Instrument/ Electrical Technician capable of doing works well.
  • Set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring checks are carried out on a regular basis.
  • Ensure that records are accurate and comply with organizational and legal requirements as well as project requirements.
  • Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time.
  • Produce procurement schedules for the jobs and liaise with the procurement department to ensure the site has adequate resources to complete the tasks.
  • Produce ITPs with QC Engineer and Task Briefings.
  • Produce 2 weeks look ahead in conjunction with the Site Agent.
  • Comply with company procedures and legal obligations.
  • Promote and comply with environmental compliance.
  • Deliver the work safely and to deadline.
  • Promote best practice for Safety, Quality and Productivity.
  • Ensure work is delivered defect/snag free.
  • Endeavour to spot and highlight value engineering opportunities and innovative ideas and closely working with CM.
  • Coordinate with client and other Contractors for the project interface activities.
  • Managing project scope and change control with commercial or without commercial impact.
  • Managing project deliverables in line with the project plan, closely working with construction team & project management team with leadership skills.
  • Monitoring project progress and performance.
  • Providing status reports to the management regularly.
  • Working closely with the main contractor and client to ensure the project meets the required needs.
  • Monitor and ensure supervisor plan and instruct and monitor in Daily Work Instruction (DWI).
  • Update and report daily progress status and lookahead minimum 3days plan with Supervisor.
  • To Accurate and timely setting out of the works.
  • Timely handover of works and Quality records without outstanding defects.
  • Production of accurate records, drawing registers and weekly Reports.
  • Must have a good relationship with site team & client technical representative.
  • Electrical Cutover Oversight: Manage MV and LV cable installations and supervise 22kV Gas Insulated Switchgear installation and testing.
  • Permit to Work (PTW) Management: Secure permits for critical tasks like 22kV shutdowns and implement LOTO procedures.
  • To be proactive in creating a safe working environment for everyone and ensuring that HSE in-house rules are observed at all times.
  • To consider HSE aspects when planning and carrying out tasks to eliminate and reduce HSE hazards, aspects and risks.
Requirements
  • Preferably bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant Pre-U/ A level/ College/ Diploma/Advanced/ Higher/ Graduate Diploma/ Office Skill Certificate or equivalent
  • Preferably computer literate in MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Preferably a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in MNC environment
  • Positive attitude with good interpersonal skills, excellent problem-solving skills backed by solid technical knowledge. A versatile and service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Able to complete tasks with little or no supervision.
